Magnesium is a mineral that is vital for a healthy body and mind. Unfortunately many of us are deficient in this essential mineral due to our lifestyle. Lack of sleep, stress and the consumption of caffeine and sugar reduce the amount of magnesium in our bodies. Magnesium can be taken orally in supplements but it has been found that the most effective way for the body to absorb it is trans dermally - or through the skin.
Benefits of Magnesium:
Magnesium oil - not actually an oil - can be purchased in chemists and health shops but is quite expensive. Around €16 for 100ml. So I decided to make my own.
Two ingredients and away you go. Magnesium flakes and distilled water. Equal amounts - 1 cup water to 1 cup flakes.
Warm the water and dissolve the flakes into it. When it has cooled down pour into spray bottles.
Spray 10 to 20 squirts morning and evening on legs and arms. DO NOT APPLY TO FACE OR SENSITIVE AREAS. It may sting but this effect will lessen as the magnesium levels in your body rise. If the sting is too much dilute with more water or rinse off after 10 minutes.
